Sarah Gets An Eiffel Of Paris

Added: (Thu Jul 17 2008)

When considering travel from London to Paris the first thought would be a combination of road and rail or boat, this is not the case for Sarah Chivers, a team member of 24/7 Fitness in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Pedal power was the answer to the challenge, cycling the 300 miles from London to Paris in just 4 days all in aid of raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The training was very important for the challenge and took place both in 24/7 Fitness itself and on the road, it included high intensity cycle classes or Spinning, as it is better known, and regular cycle trips around Hampshire.

Gary Lockwood, her training partner and personal trainer at 24/7 Fitness commented,

We are all so proud of Sarah’s success in the cycle, all the early mornings and aching bums are really worth it now and we will be continuing to get involved in events like this and help individuals make a difference through health and fitness”.

Sarah raised over £1300 for the charity and proves that anyone can fit the training for an event like this into their hectic lifestyle. The sponsors were mostly members of the gym and the event has sparked plenty of interest and enthusiasm to get involved in future events themselves. 24/7 Fitness are soon to be opening their doors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and hope to make fitness available to everyone in the Portsmouth area at a time that suits them.

Early Morning Wake Up For The Sleepover

Added: (July 14 2008)

On June the 14th 2008, thousands of children took part in the BT Giant Sleepover to raise money for Save The Children and also break the world record for the largest sleepover in multiple places.

The Spinnaker Tower was one of the special venues for the event and over 45 kids slept on the viewing deck as part of the event.

In the  morning our very own Kim Moses led an early morning wake up class to get everyone up and raring to go. The event was a great success and 24/7 Fitness will be getting involved in many more to come.
